Nigerian youths are getting fucked up by the day. Just imagine the negative feelings we had because of our country’s recent independence celebration. People even went as far as blocking people that wished them a happy independence day please who does that? We keep on saying we have nothing to celebrate because the country is hell but we seem to forget that change begins with us. Laziness skyrockets and we blame our inadequate living on a 75 year old man who is our president. We seem to be too blind to see that if we want our country to be like the US and other first class countries then we need to stop depending on the government. We say the only green white green sign we respect is that of whatsapp but we fail to recognize the fact that whatsapp wasn’t created by the president of a country but by the citizen of a country. A youth like us. We reminisce about the yar’adua regime but we fail to see the difference between the youths of now and the youths of that regime. Our parents were the youths of that regime and when we look at them what do we see? Hustlers! Our parents were the hustlers of that generation and that was why that regime was the best. Because they didn’t leave all the work to the government alone but instead they joined hands with the government to make Nigeria a true giant of Africa. But what are we doing? Absolutely nothing! Our guys dress indecently, engage in fraud, gamble and do all sorts of things while our girls go from guy to guy, pose as slay queens and turn themselves into sex objects and we expect our country to be as it is in our dreams. When naira Marley said school is a scam, he wasn’t telling us to all dropout and become societal nuisances. His hidden motive was to let us know that to be successful in Nigeria was no longer totally dependent on our certificate but on our mode of thinking and our mindset. We don’t expect an old man to fulfill our dreams for us. It is our future not his. We emphasize on the fact that he does not have a school leaving certificate but even without it he is not a nonentity. He has lived his dream to be a militant during his youth and it is time for us to live ours. Happy independence people. PEACE
